About the Artist
Intentional Choices
moving through seasons

The Illinois plains captured my imagination as a child. Its sunrise and sunset colors dancing off swirling clouds over the fields of our dairy farm infused a love for beauty in all that surrounded me.
My first art award was a landscape in grade school and by high school I was asked to study with a group of professional artists. My father didn't see the value in it because music was a more practical talent. My formal training was in vocal performance so the Fine Arts department at school grew friendships with artists who shared our space.
After I married and our children grew, my husband and I hired local artists as tutors for our children. I painted alongside them and a rekindled love of pushing paint on a canvas blossomed.
Now that the children have grown, I’ve found new teachers and with that, a growing passion to creatively reflect the world around me.
